OM
STORIES

JEN

Misty - Castle Rock, CO

“My son Austin says that Outdoor Mindset got him active and outdoors and that helped him because running and being outdoors made him feel “free”. He remembers meeting Lisa with OM who would visit him in the hospital when he was younger and has kept in contact with him. That made him feel good. As a mother, OM helped me personally by pushing me up my first 14er (Mt. Sherman). Members allowed me to express my grief about my son as a distraction to the false summits. Completing my first 14er with them made me feel on top of the world and made me realize that anything is possible. I met so many other people from different organizations on that hike. It was the start of allowing OM in my life while helping my family realize that “it’s all in your head” and that we always felt welcome meeting others who were dealing with neurological disorders themselves. I would recommend OM to anyone who wishes to get out and be free.”

Jesse - Edwards, CO

“The Emphasis in OM is about possibilities. There are a million ways to appreciate whatever good health we have. It might be cycling across a continent solo. Or it might be going for a full moon walk with friends. Either way, it is about taking each and every second, and making it count. Why go out and enjoy the full moon? Because you can.”

Lisa- Dever, CO

“I’ve had fun meeting new people at Meetups I’ve attended, and I hope that this organization only continues to grow. It is really important to me to continue to spread awareness about this organization and have fun doing it.”
