Gardening with Amy Franklin
MAY 16TH // 1:00PM-2:00PM (EST)
Learn about starting your garden, and practices specific to humid environments! We will have have Amy Franklin, who lives on Riverview Farm where she grew up picking fresh fruits. She still works at the farm during harvest season but now has her own gardening service and spends time working on historical estates in the Plainfield and Cornish, NH area. Much of her gardening knowledge comes from time on the farm, time spent with other horticulture experts and a general sense of curiosity about the plant world around all of us.
Amy will talk about the benefits of gardening not only during these unprecedented times but also for the brain. She will cover all the various garden options (ground beds, raised beds and containers) as well as talk about soils, mulch and what might work best for you! She will also be answering any other gardening questions you may have. The orchard will be in bloom at her house so she is also going to start us off with that just to get us into the spring frame of mind!
