Alana believes that life is better with a healthy dose of adventure and time spent in the mountains. A lifelong competitive athlete, she’s now a PSIA Level II and Freestyle Specialist certified ski instructor, ski mountaineer, skimo racer, whitewater kayaker, and trail runner who proudly keeps a “turns all year” ski streak alive (94 months and counting!).

Outdoor Mindset’s mission resonates deeply with Alana. Living with chronic Lyme disease and multiple tick-borne coinfections has reinforced her belief in the therapeutic power of experiencing the outdoors with good people. Supporting her mom through recovery from a traumatic brain injury has also shown her how strongly nature and community can support healing, resilience, and hope.

Professionally, Alana has spent her career helping people and organizations navigate growth, innovation, and complexity. Her background spans venture capital, entrepreneurship, startup advising, leadership development, and strategy consulting, and she is most energized by cultivating curiosity, cross-pollinating ideas, connecting unexpected dots, and helping bold visions become reality.

When she’s not chasing snow or running rivers, Alana is usually leveling up in pursuit of her ever-growing bucket list of mountain adventures. She’s lived in 6 countries, traveled to nearly 40, and is a devoted dog mom to 3 rescue pups who are equal parts adventure buddies, comic relief, and enthusiastic snow addicts—just like their humans!
